Some of the deficits in the area of oil and gas licensing and contracting include the absence of transparency in the licensing process, poor capacity of institutions to assess contracts and the inability of citizens, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community Based organizations (CBOs) to understand the implications of complex language used in oil and gas contracts. In the light of these challenges, the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) with financial support from Strengthening Transparency, Accountability and Responsiveness in Ghana (STAR-Ghana) has undertaken a project to promote
